I’ve just found out through a source that Miguel Cabrera, the franchise first basemen of the Tigers is in deed being shopped. That could be huge news as the winter meetings are just around the corner. I can’t really state for fact on WHY Miggy is being shopped around, but my best guess would be money. He’s in the middle of a monster deal and Detroit as everyone knows is arguably getting hit the hardest by the recession. It must be tough for the tiggers fanbase due to the recent success over the last couple years including a deep run in the postseason 3 years ago, and coming within a game of the postseason last year. Losing the heart of their lineup would be devestating for a hurting city. I sincerely hope that the Tiggers (yes I Said Tiggers) do not end up trading this guy. I feel that Miggy is a premier talent and I would hate seeing him getting traded for a second time due to money, but if that’s the case well…it is what it is. I would imagine that the front office will do everything they can to keep him, and would demand a ridiculous amount of talent in return if traded, so I don’t neccisarily believe a deal will get done- but it very well could happen this offseason.

Miguel Cabrera on the move for the second time in his short career?
