1) Casey Crosby-SP
The Kaneland, Illinois product that I’ve been able to watch personally. Left hander that throws in the mid to upper 90′s. Not far away, and could be the best compliment to Verlander around.
2) Jacob Turner-SP
Another young kid I really like a lot. Similar to Crosby in terms of stuff, but is real young. I can definitely see him at the top of the rotation as well.
3) Austin Jackson-OF
Came over in the Granderson trade. I was able to watch this guy work out for 6 weeks in Florida and he’s a monster. He’s gonna be the starting guy this year at some point- I would like to think right out of spring training.
4) Dan Schlereth-RP
Future closer in terms of stuff. Needs to slow it down a bit. Should be real effective with that power curve ball.
5) Scott Sizemore-2B
Outstanding fall pushes him in the top 5 of a pretty good system. Could be a Todd Walker like offensive player with a better glove.
6) Alex Avila-C
Just a good solid catcher. Does everything at a good level. No real big weakness here, I just want to see how it transitions into the higher levels.
7) Andy Oliver-SP
Had a big fall in Arizona. When you do that- you start to raise some eyebrows. Still a little green in terms of stuff however.
8) Casper Wells-OF
Another outstanding young talent that had a big fall. Will he hit for power?
9) Daniel Fields-SS
I think he has the chance to be real good. Is decently quick, has some good range and good hands. Real young and I want to see more of him this year.
10) Ryan Strieby-1b/OF
I think he’s more of a first basemen than outfielder- but he better learn the outfield or they’ll have to trade Miggy for him to get a shot. More of a slugger than all around hitter right now.
