Philadelphia Phillies Top Ten Prospects 2010

1) Dominick Brown-OF

The seemingly lone survivor of the 2 big trades of the last year for Philly. …I would think that he’ll be ready for sure in 2011, and potentially at some point in 2010. He’s got all the talent in the world to be a very good major league player.

2) Phillipe Aumont-SP

I’m extremely high on this guy. He throws hard and has an outrageous sinker. Injuries hopefully won’t prevent him from getting to the bigs, but it’s a possibility. In fact, I wanted the Cubs to draft him over Josh Vitters due to his stuff. The inning that sticks out in my mind is when he came in for Team Canada against the USA in the WBC and struck out the side with the bases loaded. That’s his upside right there.

3) Trevor May-SP

Another quality arm. I don’t know if he’ll be at an ace like status, but I think he could be a real serviceable guy.

4) Anthony Gose-OF

Fast, potential lead off hitter of the future. Not a ton of power, but if he can cut down on the K’s and find the gaps a little more- could be a real threat.

5) Tyson Gillies-OF

Another fast, real good athlete. Outstanding defender, with an improving bat. I really like the upside here.

6) Sebastian Vale-C

Could be a masher- needs to improve in basically all faucets of the game.

7) J.C Ramirez-SP

I’m not as high on him as a starter. Came over in the Cliff Lee/Roy Halladay blockbuster. I like his arm, but I think he’s better suited for the bullpen than the rotation.

8) Johnathon Singleton-1B

Real young player, but could eventually develop himself into a real power hitting first basemen.

9) Domingo Santana-OF

Another young guy. It’s hard to say what he could be, but he’s got some tools to do some good things. We’ll know more about him this year.

10) Jarred Cosart-SP

High potential arm. Reports are saying he’s real immature and doesn’t handle situations all that well. Hopefully he’ll grow up a little bit and find everything in terms of potential.
